Fin has been charming our island’s guests with his paper airplane pop-up shop for years. He first set up a table outside Eastaway two years ago, and he sold both his homemade planes and instruction on how to make them. Claiming “every plane has its own personality,” Fin filled his bank account selling both his product and his banter. This past Christmas he moved his business inside Basics to raise money for the Island Food Pantry.
Realizing that with this pandemic he may not be able to set up shop for a while, he is moving his production online! 100% of his paper airplane sales will be donated to the Island Food Pantry, a worthy organization helping to make sure no families go to bed hungry here on MV.
Basics Clothing Company is a year-round, family owned clothing store on Martha’s Vineyard. Located in the bustling town of Oak Bluffs, we carry shoes, accessories and clothing for the entire family. Eastaway Clothing is our fun, seasonal companion right next door. Eastaway opened its doors almost 40 years ago, and it still continues to serve both tourists and locals with beachy fashion and gifts. The business was started by Tom and Laurie Welch in 1981, and now Erin Tiernan has partnered with them. When he’s not romping on the beach, the next generation retailer, Fin, can often be found giving great service at the stores.
